The University Concert Hall of Limerick will be the venue for 'Eurosong 2008'. This is the first time that the national final has been hosted outside Dublin since 1997. That year the Irish final took place in Waterford.
The University Concert Hall, or UCH, was opened in 1993 and is no stranger to the Irish national song contest, as it played host to the 1994 final. Ireland secured it's third win in a row that year, so let's hope we can be even a fraction as successful with our entry this year. The UCH is located on the campus of one of Ireland's major colleges, the University of Limerick. UCH is however not a building by itself and is housed in a larger complex called the Foundation Building. There are two additional theatres which accompny the main auditorium. They can be linked to the main hall for certain concerts and this may be a feature of the venue which RTE choose to use for the national final.
